Dabr has been down now for just over 24hrs and [although we do run into server problems from time to time], this particular issue took us by surprise. I’ve been in touch with the rest of the team and it seems the fault lies with WebFusion UK.

David has just forwarded me the following email:

Our Data Center operations team have identified an unausally high load on the node your VPS is situated on.This appears to have been caused by your container. Initial attempts to restart the container/terminate the culprit processes failed, leading to the suspension of your container until such a point that a System Administrator can investigate this issue further.

If we can be of any further help with regard to this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

WebFusion UK

At the time of writing, David is on hold with WebFusion UK’s telephone support to try and get this issue resolved as a matter of urgency. Man, I hate it when this stuff happens at the weekend.

We’re really sorry about this folks, stay tuned and we’ll update when we’re back online.

To stay up to date in real time, don’t forget to follow @dabr on Twitter.

where is the login via dabr? twitter is blocked in the office. thanks.

  2. James Whatley says:

    Hey Miko,

That feature (along with the date) is still on our old servers. We’re aiming to get that all moved over at some point today.

Unfortunately (and this is one of the reasons we are moving) the Admins for our old servers only work Mon-Fri.

    Apologies for any inconvenience.

  3. jiezitui says:

Thanks! I can use it again.

  4. Nilesh says:

I’m kind of handicapped without dabr when I want to tweet. :/

  5. artesea says:

Just a reminder that there are many of us running our own versions of Dabr which are still up and running. I won’t link to mine directly as I’m not sure I could cope with everyone moving over, however you should be clever enough to find it if you need to.

  6. Kat Miller says:

Thanks for the update, I look forward to deleting Echofon & being back on @dabr soon

  7. bertolt says:

First love dabr, really cool app, but need to ask if there will be the option to get an automatic refresh? and maybe a notification when we get a @ or a DM, i mean next to the icon?? :)
dabr is really good but this would made it amazing :)

  10. jules says:

Hey… can access on laptop, but my mobile won’t play – when I go to dabr bookmark, it defaults to blog, but then when I try the alternate link, I get message ‘failed to open stream, no such file or directory in’ and then it gives an amin/domain link for Dabr. I miss you on my mobile! Can you suggest anything or help?

  11. bondandon says:

yeaa, where is the login via dabr??? twitter is blocked in the office…. :(

  12. theunis says:

There are so many of us in the offices where twitter is blocked.. man, dabr was such a lifesaver .. Hopefully there is some way to restore the functionality to login via dabr since those who have twitter firewalled cannot login via its api… Any comments James? Is there some other way? kind regards! :)

  13. James Whatley says:

Dabr login will return. Hopefully this week :)

  14. theunis says:

wow!! thank you! Thank you! :) Hey James any thoughts on doing a subscription yearly service? I would glady give some money with such a service. I remember Xmarks, we pledged for its existence and yearly subscription so they would not be shut down.. This kind of services are really where I am gladly giving my money..
